Are You a Carrot, An Egg, or a Coffee Bean?

Are You a Carrot, An Egg, or a Coffee Bean?
Anonymous
In life and business, especially in DXN business, there are many a times where the members who joined DXN to earn money feel dejected by the rejection and not getting the right result. The following article teaches us a lesson on how to handle situation in the face of adversity.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma.
The daughter then asked. "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity—boiling water—but each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Do I have a fluid spirit, but after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trials, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor.
If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are at the darkest and trials are at their greatest, do you elevate to another level?
Are you a Carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?

Moral: The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; we can’t go forward in life until we let go of our past failures and heartaches. When we were born, we were crying and everyone around us was smiling.. We need to live our life so at the end, we are the one who is smiling and everyone around us is crying.

May we have enough happiness to make us sweet, enough trials to make us strong, enough sorrow to keep us human and enough hope to make us happy.

May we all be the COFFEE !!!!

Note for DXN Coffee Drinkers : Whenever you drink DXN Coffee, remember this story, be healthy physically and mentally.

Growing Old Gracefully

Everybody has to grow old but growing old without pain is what we all want.
The journey from birth to old age depends on how we spend our lives---giving due respect to our body and mind, right from childhood will give better results at our old age. Our old age is directly proportional to the lives we spend before we step in old age. The process can be expedited or worsen if we do not take care of ourselves in our youth. The following are a few tips to age gracefully.

1. Be Active: Both physically and mentally. Participate in healthy activities for at least 30 minutes daily. Exercise. Join a Gym, take a walk and be active at least 4 times a week--keep the joints moving. Remember, exercise is not only a prevention but a natural treatment to many diseases.

2. Pray. Daily prayer appears to help your immune system. And people who attend a formal worship service regularly live longer and report happier, healthier lives.

3. Yoga or meditation. Learn to meditate. It's important for your brain that you learn to shut out the stresses of everyday life. Other than various relaxation exercises, learn the art of breathing.

4. Personal Growth. Invest in your personal growth. Read books, join classes which you always wanted to do but did not have time before. Write and read something daily. Write your experience of life, maybe your autobiography. Writing & reading stimulates many areas of the brain.

5. Sleep. Get enough sleep because lack of sleep causes dementia.

6. Family first. Be connected with your family and enjoy the time with children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.

7. Love. Keep the love alive---with your near and dear ones. Never think that love is only for teenagers and young couples. You can be in love even now.

8. Nature. Enjoy the nature and be with nature---take a walk near the seaside, forest or river/lake.

9. Social Cause. Involve yourself with social causes---help & serve people who need your help. One that I am involved in is finished : reduce night blindness from the world. http://vision-foundation.com/

10. Play. Playing board games such as Chess, Scrabble and Monopoly, tax your brain and at the same time, you're socializing too. Even playing solo games, such as solitaire or online computer brain games can be helpful.

11. Food. Eat more fruits and vegetables: Antioxidants in fruits and vegetables mop up some of the damage caused by free radicals, one of the leading killers of brain cells. The elderly person's diet should be high in nutrient-dense food, but low in high-fat food, due do diminished energy needs.

12. Food Supplements. Consume natural supplements to detox your body and keep your brain healthy. Food supplements like Lion's Mane, Spirulina and Cordyceps candies, Noni Juice& Reishi mushroom help in keeping your cells healthy in both your brain and body.

Enjoy your old age.... enjoy every moment of it.

Helping the Night Blind Children

Eyesight and to see the world is one of the greatest blessings from God to us. Ask a person who could see and now has become blind due to night blindness or retinitis pigmentosa (RP). I met such a person, Akram Lodhi, who had become blind due to RP. He is now the Chairman of the Vision Foundation (www.vision-foundation.com) and helping the blind children in Pakistan.

I took a deeper look into this ill fated disease and did some research on night blindness. I was shocked to read the harsh facts. The WHO estimates 13.8 million children to have some degree of visual loss related to vitamin A deficiency. Approximately 500,000 children in the developing world go blind each year from insufficient vitamin A. Approximately half of those children die within a year of becoming blind. http://www.who.int/nutrition/topics/vad/en/ In order to see the problem first hand, I traveled to a village about 50 KM outside Karachi, Pakistan. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the plight of the night blind children.

I thought that blindness is an incurable disease but to my surprise I saw the positive results and held those children who after taking Spirulina and Reishi mushroom could see after a few months. That was the time, I decided to join hands in this noble cause.

Through my humble efforts, DXN network and support of people around the world, I promise to help as many children as possible to get back their eyesight. Since the project started in Pakistan, I will continue to see further results and take this mission further to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, The Philippines, Africa and the rest of the world.

The project is huge and the total cost for 6 months for one child is about 800$. My appeal to you is to come forward, take one blind child and help her/him so that they can see the world. Or just donate any amount of Spirulina and Reishi. Please get in touch with Mr. Zarif Ahmed, Country Manger of DXN Pakistan and he will guide you as to how you can transfer the money. nightblindness2012@gmail.com

God bless you.

Facing the Enemies Within by Jim Rohn

We are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear. Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by what someone has told you, by what you've read in the papers.

Some fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o'clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won't need to live in fear of it.

Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions. Fear can destroy fortunes. Fear can destroy relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us.

Let me tell you about five of the other enemies we face from within. The first enemy that you've got to destroy before it destroys you is indifference. What a tragic disease this is. "Ho-hum, let it slide. I'll just drift along." Here's one problem with drifting: you can't drift your way to the top of the mountain.

The second enemy we face is indecision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will steal your chances for a better future. Take a sword to this enemy.

The third enemy inside is doubt. Sure, there's room for healthy skepticism. You can't believe everything. But you also can't let doubt take over. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities. Worst of all, they doubt themselves. I'm telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both your bank account and your heart. Doubt is an enemy. Go after it. Get rid of it.

The fourth enemy within is worry. We've all got to worry some. Just don't let it conquer you. Instead, let it alarm you. Worry can be useful. If you step off the curb in New York City and a taxi is coming, you've got to worry. But you can't let worry loose like a mad dog that drives you into a small corner. Here's what you've got to do with your worries: drive them into a small corner. Whatever is out to get you, you've got to get it. Whatever is pushing on you, you've got to push back.

The fifth interior enemy is over-caution. It is the timid approach to life. Timidity is not a virtue; it's an illness. If you let it go, it'll conquer you. Timid people don't get promoted. They don't advance and grow and become powerful in the marketplace. You've got to avoid over-caution.

Do battle with the enemy. Do battle with your fears. Build your courage to fight what's holding you back, what's keeping you from your goals and dreams. Be courageous in your life and in your pursuit of the things you want and the person you want to become.

Problem Solving
To solve any problem, there are three questions to ask yourself:
First, what could I do?
Second, what could I read?
And third, whom could I ask?

The real problem is usually two or three questions deep. If you want to go after someone's problem, be aware that most people aren't going to reveal what the real problem is after the first question.
Never attack a problem without also presenting a solution.
The best place to solve a problem is on paper.

How to lose weight naturally?

Overweight and obesity is a critical public health problem. Many advanced countries are paying billions of $ annually (only USA pays over 100 billion $ per annum) in problems associated with overweight and obesity alone. Many people want to reduce weight but do not know how. Some people think that by just walking they can reduce weight. But there is more to it. Those who are serious to reduce weight are struggling and paying hundreds of $ but not getting any results.

After being in the wellness industry and coaching 100s of people, I have designed a simple 6 step formula to lose weight.

1. Mindset and commitment to lose weight.

2. Exercise, related to weight loss. Simplest and easiest exercise is just walking for 40 mins per day but here also you need to know the correct walking skills.

3. Food--what to eat and not to eat, how much to eat, when to eat and what to do after eating: “You are what you eat.”

4. Drink--what to drink and not to drink, when to drink water and not drink water, how much to drink: “Your body cries for water”

5. Understanding body metabolism. Why a lot of children and old people put on weight?

6. Consuming the right DXN food supplements

Maintaining a normal weight is vital for overall health. If people maintain their correct BMI (body mass index), the risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke will be drastically reduced.

Are you ready to reduce weight?

One Happy Healthy DXN Family

Three generations, mother, daughter and granddaughters are consuming DXN products and getting health benefits

Getting benefits from DXN food supplements?

How to get maximum benefits
from DXN food and food supplements?

1. Having the correct mindset
Effective health improvement begins with your mind---belief in herbs is an important factor to maximize the benefits. In addition, an understanding of Ganotherapy is important.

2. Using the Ganoderma & other food supplements regularly as per consumption chart
Taking  the correct consumption regularly is extremely important.

3. Increasing the consumption as per the consumption chart will give faster results.

4. Giving sufficient time
The result of Ganoderma is visible if sufficient time is given. Since these products are working in cellular level, it takes time to show the results. Different people will take different time to show the results; all depending upon the number of cells being repaired.

 5. Expecting Ganoderma temporary reflection
The food supplements do not have side effects but do have positive ailing reflection. Reflection is the detoxification (discharge of chemicals) of the body.

Walking

"Walking is the nearest activity to perfect exercise". Professor J Morris and Dr Adrianne Hardman, 1997

The best and easiest form of daily exercise is simple walking, to be precise, brisk walking. It can be done anywhere & anytime, it does not cost anything and has profound benefits. Walk and enjoy walking but without overexertion. I assure you that walking will make you feel good. If you enjoy walking, you will definitely enjoy the benefits afterwards.

Benefit of walking

Doctors have been advising that walking is good for the lungs, heart and muscles and bone growth. I am sure you remember the old quotes by George Trevelyan,
“I have 2 doctors, my left leg and my right”

The Health benefits of walking are numerous.
Studies show that walking can :
reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke,
lower blood pressure,
reduce high cholesterol and improve blood lipid profile,
reduce body fat,
enhance mental well being,
increase bone density, hence helping to prevent osteoporosis,
reduce the risk of cancer of the colon,
reduce the risk of non insulin dependent diabetes,
help to control body weight,
help osteoarthritis,
help flexibility and co-ordination hence reducing the risk of falls.
(Sources: Davison & Grant 1993, US Dept of Health 1996, British Heart Foundation 2000)

Walking for fun with family gives you more joy and the best thing is that you do not feel as if you are exercising.

Few Do’s of walking
  • Get a loose outfit, preferably cotton and most importantly, get good comfortable shoes
  • Before you start walking, do a 5-minute warm-up through stretching and spot running
  • Once you start walking, start slowly, gradually build your pace to brisk walking and continue for at least 30 to 40 minutes and finally slow down till you stop
  • After you stop walking, repeat the stretching exercise to tone your muscle
  • You can also cool down by doing some deep breathing exercises as taught in yoga (I will cover this later)
  • Most importantly, before starting your brisk walking exercise, please see your doctor and get the “green light”

Testimonials : I have seen many people in their mid 70s and even 80s in Canada who had been walking for 30 to 40 years and keeping themselves fit.
If they can do it, so can you.

    4Rs of Rejuvenation

Summer is here, people are on vacation or planning to go on one. I am already enjoying my vacation in Vancouver, Canada. Vacation is a leisure time to rejuvenate---do what you love to do, read books, play
games, go hiking in the woods or mountains or sea side, be with friends and relatives, enjoy the party, etc. The following thoughts were shared by my nephew Leo and I thought to share with all of you.

The 4Rs of rejuvenation: reflect, release, renew and relax

Reflect - from now going back a few days, weeks, months as far as you can think. Anything that was holding you back from moving forward in life (things that you resisted), recognize them and find the real reason behind the resistance, then release them.

Release - self-forgiveness or/and forgiveness of others in order to let go of any kind of clutter in your mind and eventually be open to receiving and renew yourself with positive and constructive thoughts.

Renew - build up your self-esteem using affirmations (be grateful for all that you have), use visualization where you project yourself before your eyes and see the future, the way you would want to see yourself few days, weeks, months or years from now.

Relax – Relaxation is not only doing yoga, deep breathing & sleeping but the true relaxation is calming you internally. Just lying down, closing eyes and focusing on relaxing individual body parts one at a time, either starting from head to toe or vice versa, until your entire body feels like it's sinking. This is a good practice in isolating your thoughts, feelings and emotions, which can help you in creating opportunities for yourself. Just be ready to recognize them when they show up and try not to resist.

Sometimes you do things that you don't really love doing but just need or have to for whatever reasons. - it’s tough to always love what you do, so at these times, you want to find something to love in whatever you are doing, be it small or big, and just focus on that. Soon enough, you will accept it with love and it becomes effortless.

How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World

This is a fascinating and compelling talk by Mycologist Paul Stamets on the beneficial effects of mushrooms.

As Earth faces the perilous prospect of continuously rising temperatures, scientists and government leaders are stressing the importance of conserving our planet’s precious biodiversity.

Thus, many studies are being conducted to find effective ways to maintain sustainability. But what many may not realize is that we are surrounded by plants that may provide a promising solution: mushrooms.

Please join us today as Paul Stamets presents his findings on the remarkable vegetative part of fungi, mycelium. With six books on mushroom cultivation to his credit, Mr. Stamets is a best-selling author and leading expert in the field of mycology and holds a number of patents.
