Impact and Importance of Network Marketing Events

An event is defined as an occurrence of some importance. There are many different types of network marketing events, including seminars, product launch event, leadership camp, conferences or yearly recognition night. These events are one of the pillars of our business because our business is done through word of mouth, either online or offline, but the real impact is felt when one attends these events. 
  
I have seen over the years that events in Network Marketing are taken lightly, which should not be the case. There are 4 key reasons why networkers should attend all events:

  1. Motivation
  2. Learning
  3. Networking
  4. Business


Motivation
Network marketing revolves around motivation and all events leave a big impact on the mind of audience. Companies usually launch new products or share their future plans of opening new offices in new countries. Everyone wants to be recognized and there is no place better than to be in an event on the stage, and be recognized in front of 1000s of people. The motivation one gets by standing on the stage to be recognized by the CEO is simply awesome. The feeling at that time is much more than what you get in the form of money. 
 

 

Learning

There are 2 types of learning experienced at these events:

  1. Theoretical
  • President / CEO of a company give facts about where the company started, where it is now, and where it will be in the future.
  • Products, where scientists and researchers talk about ingredients and benefits of the products. All these data build confidence in the mind of networkers, in case a time arises where you are asked technical questions by doctors or government officials, you should satisfy them with all relevant data

    1. Practical
    • You must make sure to get your challenges answered by the top leaders. The success stories, skill sets, and testimonials of achievers show you a road map to how you can also be an achiever.
    • Personal development helps networkers learn by interacting with leaders—right from the way they talk, dress or move, helping new comers change their mindset and belief about the industry.

    Networking

    Since leaders from all over the world congregate, this is the best place to connect with people whom you have seen in pictures on Facebook or YouTube. You build relationships and of course learn what those top achievers do to become highly successful. Make sure to get their contacts. Also you make connection with other members from different cities and country, but remember, you do not do prospecting with them, but only build a professional relationship. 



    Business

    These events help all guests/prospects get the knowledge, raise their credibility, and belief in what you have been saying. At the end of the day, you want more consumers in your business and such events allow you to do that! 

     

    What and why, you as a distributor/leader of your network marketing company should do?

    1. Promote the event as much as you can.
    2. Make sure you and your members buy the tickets and attend the event with your entire team.
    3. As a leader, your presence with your team will induce a positive impact on your business.
    4. Your bonus and your rank in coming months will rise. 

       
    What should you do after the events?

    1. Write down what motivated you at the event. This same motivation will fuel your work for the coming months
    2. The next day, read all the notes, looking for new things you learned at the event.
    3. Based on what you have learned, create an action plan and immediately implement it.
    4. Follow up with people you networked with.
    5. Set a new goal for how you and your team will work with the new vision.
    6. Gather all your team leaders and exchange notes, focusing on their new goals


    Conclusion: The success of networkers revolves around events. In my opinion, attending events should not be an option, but be a MUST for all, whether they are new members or leaders.

    2016 Goal Setting for Networkers

    2016 is right around the corner and once again we will sit down and see what we did and like all previous years, write a new set of goals--only to see them going to the trash can after a month or two. Why?

    Another New Year means another New Year resolution! After making so many resolutions, why are we exactly in the same place as we have been for many years. We are stuck. I will be specific in this blog and talk about Network Marketing business. After being in the industry for more than a decade and coaching thousands of networkers, I have found the following reasons as to why goals are not achieved:
    1. Ambiguity in writing the goals. Clarity and simplicity are the solution to setting goals.
    2. Having too many goals. The focus is to have one high priority goal.
    3. Not setting practical target dates for achieving them. Setting a realistic time frame to achieve the goal will keep your motivation alive.
    4. Ill discipline. Only and only disciplined people see what they write is implemented in their daily lives. Achieving goals is not a random, one day or one month action, but it is 365 days of disciplined acts.
    5. No accountability. Many networkers fail to accomplish their goals because they are stuck and do not have anybody to guide them. The job of a coach or mentor is to show how to get unstuck. As Peter Drucker said, What gets measured gets improved.”
    If you are committed to jump start 2016, then you need to focus on all the above 5 points. In Network Marketing business, the biggest challenge is to find qualified prospects. So our entire focus and goal is to learn the skills of breaking the ice and getting more prospects in our business.

    Success Story of Alvaro Mejia and Maria Olmos

    An interview with Mr. Alvaro Mejia and Mdm. Maria Olmos from Bolivia. They share their experiences in attaining success in DXN, steps they have taken to grow the business in Bolivia, while imparting a few business tips for other DXN leaders.

    When you give your everything, anything can happen



    During the 2012 London Olympic Games, over 10,000 athletes gathered in London to test their stamina and skills with other contestants. Every four years, these Olympians teach the world many lessons—we see tears of joy for winning gold, and singing national anthems with pride, and tears of sadness for touching the finish line micro seconds behind the gold medalist.

    Michael Phelps, an American swimmer, won 16 Olympic medals: six of them gold, and two bronze in Athens in 2004 and eight gold medals in Beijing in 2008. I was reading an interesting article as to what made him different from other swimmers and how he managed to capture so many gold medals. 

    I was surprised to read that Phelps learned a trick or two from other underwater inhabitants, like dolphin, and used backstroke dolphin kick to make the big difference.

    Lesson #1:

     
    Learn to do things which make the difference in your life and business. Another sport I always admired is TRIATHLON where competitors have to develop skills in 3 disciplines — swimming, cycling and running, a combination which takes longer to master. Likewise if you want to be successful in NETWORK MARKETING, you have to be Triathlete and master the 3 disciplines— prospecting, team building, and leadership.


    Here I would like to mention one of the greatest Olympic triathlon from Canada, Simon Whitfield. Whitfield competed in every Olympic triathlon since its games debut in 2000, where he stunned the world with his gold medal in Sydney Olympics.
    At age 11, he started training himself to become triathlete and as of 2008, 1:48:24.02 stands as the fastest Olympic triathlon record. At age 37, Simon qualified for the 2012 London Olympics in Triathlon. If there is one thing Simon has proven over his athletic career, it’s that when you give your everything, anything can happen.



    Lesson #2:
     
    Raise your own bar to get better. Are you giving your everything to achieve the success you are looking for?


    Network marketing is a unique opportunity, which can secure one’s financial future. The most amazing thing about network marketing is that it can be practiced by all. It does not discriminate between color, age, education or experience—this is why it is called “free enterprise”, a business of equal opportunity. Network marketing provides people with endless opportunities and possibilities.


    Network marketing business model is simple and doable by anyone who is ready to change and willing to work hard to grow the business. It makes an ordinary person extraordinary. One can select one’s own business partners, and own time and place to do the business. The business provides you joy, adventure, and complete satisfaction.

    Why I Love Network Marketing Business?

    When I was introduced to the Network Marketing in 2003, I saw it as a health provider, but when I delved deeper, I saw my personal freedom—freedom to get out my stressful job, saw that I could have time and financial freedom and above all, I saw a way to help hundreds of people.  I saw the beauty of giving, and fell in love with the entire system.

    It is an amazing business model where a person does not need a big capital to start the business, does not require a college degree or an office, a shop or a warehouse. It can be done by rich or poor, young or old, working or stay home mom. 

     
      
       Freedom to Give 
     

    There are two things the entire world needs: good health and enough money to enjoy life and not be dependent on anybody. I have traveled to rich and poor countries and seen thousands of people benefiting in both the areas. There cannot be a better way to earn a living by finding the problems of people and providing them solution. The best part of the business is that if people like the solution, well and good, if they do not like the solution, no problem. I am still a winner because in both ways, my intention was to help, whether I hear No or Yes.

      Time Freedom
     
    In any job or business, one is bound to work at specified time and location---many times people have to work extra hours and even work over weekends.  In network marketing profession, there is no restriction of time and place. You can work from the comfort of your home and create your own hours and plan your business around them.

    Financial freedom 
    Before DXN, I did not have any plan B (no back plan, if I lose my job) and I was literally clinging to the job and of course, the boss was always right, even if he was wrong. This is the hidden stress of most of the jobbers. I started doing my business as part time and in four years, made it a full time business. There is no doubt I invested several hours in those years to get my financial freedom, but I enjoyed every moment of it—I loved what I did.

      Growth freedom
     
    After graduating as an aerospace engineer, my growth was limited to technical knowledge and that too stagnated after 10 years. After joining DXN Network Marketing business, I had to study Food Science and Nutrition in order to understand food supplements, nutrients and how all these natural herbs work in our body. Even though I received sufficient knowledge in two years to know and talk about the organic supplements of DXN--- today after 12 years, I am still a student of food science and learning about food and food supplements.  The education which gave me the financial freedom was Network Marketing and when I decided in January 2004 to do it as business, I immediately registered myself with Networking Times University and later got a personal coach for a year from MLM University ---I invested time, effort, and money to learn the skills of the business. Last but not the least was the area of personal development and this I feel is a never ending sea of knowledge. In order to be successful, one needs to constantly find their weaknesses and strengths and work around it.

      Enjoyment, Fun and Friendship

    The best part of our profession is traveling to different countries, training people, and making friends globally--- this is the greatest rewards of building my business.
    What I love most about DXN is having the opportunity to build success by helping others succeed. We celebrate our success together in yearly Travel Seminar Incentive trips around the world.

    Conclusion
    Today many people ask me why I love DXN and what is so wonderful about network marketing industry? My answer is simple and straight ---it has given me happiness and personal freedom. Every day is a beautiful day where I get to meet new people, help people who need my help---consumers, members and leaders.     Challenges faced by most Networkers


    In the beginning, most networkers face the same challenges, and if not resolved, these challenges continue to linger even after a few years. I received the following email from a Networker and the challenges he was facing in the business. Coincidentally, these are common hurdles most networkers encounter daily. I have decided to share his email along with the solution. 

     “I am working to become Star Diamond--just looking for advice on how to counteract apathy and inaction. I started weekly seminars/webinars and promoted it to distributors and new people, but only a few listen in. I am unable to get a lot of people to meetings.

    In your experience, what is the best strategy to get people to try and buy products, and come to the meetings or onto webinars?"

     

    My reply with advice and solution is as follows:
     

    Good Morning, 
    Thanks for the update. I want to wish you all the best in getting the status of Diamond, but remember, getting just the status without big bonus is pointless.

    Focus on building your team with a bigger sale volume (PV), and you will automatically get your status as well as big bonus.
     

    Apathy and inaction are a major problem for networkers. Most people join the business with enthusiasm and excitement but within a year, all their enthusiasm dies because they are not successful in earning good money. One sure way to come out of inaction is to write your WHY on your Why Card. You should be crystal clear as to why you joined the network marketing business and YOUR burning desire to do the business. Once you have written your why, next you need to read it daily so that you program your subconscious mind to take you out of inaction and propel you towards action.


    You need to take certain action daily and evaluate it weekly. Access your performance under a microscope. Upline success leaders, coaches or mentors are the best people to remove the stumbling block from your way. Here you need to be accountable to your coach and send them WEEKLY COACHING FORM, so that they can show you your mistakes and help you find solutions to your problems.
     

    Getting several people to attend your seminars and webinars depends on how you, your leaders, and members are approaching people inviting prospects. Newton’s Law says it all, “For every action, there is equal and opposite reaction”. In your business, your main action is to talk to people daily. Make sure all your active members bring at least one prospect to your meetings, and in a few weeks, I assure you will have a presentation room full of people.
     

    A strategy for people to buy the products is to make yourself VISIBLE by participating in Expo, fairs, etc., and volunteer for free wellness talks in schools, offices and community centers and let them try the products. Gather all your leaders and members and devise new ways to reach out to people. Local strategy has to be brainstormed.
     

    With technology so affordable and accessible, make best use of Internet/digital marketing and reach out to people first in your local area and then to your city and then to your country.
     

    Since this is business and must be done professionally, you need to invest some money in promoting your products and yourself.
     

    If you are conducting meetings, tell your members to get at least one person in your next meeting.

    My Story


    My global DXN business took me from Dubai to Nepal to China and Philippines in the east. To the West I travelled to Ethiopia, Kenya, and Sudan, and almost all over Europe. Across the Atlantic, I went from Peru in the south to Mexico, USA and Canada in the north. The world became one big global village for me. If your Network is located in many countries, you could well imagine where you can travel and expand your business. This is all what travel freedom is all about.

    You can start and build your business in your own city or country but it is vital to expand globally. Why? The way the world economy and political situations are changing, nobody can predict what is going to happen next. If you see the recent world recession scenario some countries were badly impacted and others were not. It does not take years but just a few months to drastically transform the political situation of a country: today peace and tomorrow we see those countries at war or civil strife. 



    In order to have a stable income in your business, it is important to expand your business in other countries.     Is There a Network Marketing Success Formula?

    People who join Network Marketing business think there is a magic formula to be successful. Like any other business, Network Marketing also demands knowledge, skills, and patience to succeed. I have highlighted a few success steps for business builders (also known as members or distributors) to succeed in Network Marketing. 
     

    1. Use all the products and become product of the product--so that the business builder can experience the benefits of the products, and have their own personal testimonials.
    2. Talk about the benefits of the products with others. The most important thing for business builders is to use and consume all the products, take time out to tell their prospects how to use the products, and share the benefits of the products.
    3. Make big consumer groups, whom business builders know well, and reach out to more consumers through the consumer groups.
    4. Start retailing the products to corner stores, wholesale, flea markets, and exhibitions. The business builders need to make attractive roll up banners, register themselves with the local expo, and make themselves visible via local flyers and newspaper.
    5. After building their consumer groups, they should make a big prospect list—and reach out to all their hot and warm markets.
    6.  Business builders should invest to educate themselves by joining well reputed Network Marketing University (Networking University, https://www.networkingtimes.com/university/), buying Network Marketing books, CDs, and DVDs. The key to success in Network Marketing is to learn basic prospecting and presentation skills.
    7. Once the network starts growing, the business builders should start building leaders in every line and within 3-5 years’ time, they should have enough leaders, thereby focusing their attention on the international market.
    8. By this time business builders should have at least 10 front lines so that in 5 years’ time, their target should be to become one of the top achievers of their company.
    9. In Network Marketing, business builders should grow to the highest level when they invest time and money on their personal growth. There are 100s of books on personal growth, and business builders should read every day to develop themselves. To become a leader, you have to be a reader.
    10. Since the Network Marketing business is spread all over the world, the business builders should start internet prospecting and marketing with the help of an Internet Marketing expert. This is where they will start enjoying the international business—the business with no boundaries.
    11. Once the business gets established in other countries, the business builders should start traveling to those countries and train the new members to become leaders.
    12. While doing all the above, the business builders should keep in mind to become a business trainer/coach (the higher level), they should participate in all the seminars, Opportunity Meeting, and move up to become a national and international speaker/trainer.
    13. They should qualify for all the Travel Seminar Incentives, and be part of free vacations to exotic lands. In these trips, they will have the opportunity to meet successful people from around the globe.
    14. The biggest joy in Network Marketing business is the power of giving. Business builders should invest in reaching out to people in need by getting involved in a social cause. This should be the ultimate goal, where the purpose is to not become a millionaire, or get the highest status in the company, but to help millions who are waiting for your helping hand.

    Doing DXN Business as a Business

    Most of the people join DXN to do business but unfortunately treat the business as a hobby business and that is why they get hobby bonus (little bonus). If these members treat the business like a business, they will get business result and of course big bonus.

    I have following points for those who are serious to do the business as a business.

    1. Monitor your monthly growth. If your business in not growing by 10% every month, you have to start talking to more people, make new consumers and members and boost your business from existing members and consumer.
     

              

    2.Have a fortnightly meeting with your leaders and see and talk about their 10% growth.


     
    3. Do you monthly 300 PPV by 15th of each month and let your entire team do the same.
     
    4. If you are a Star Diamond, make sure that your 4 SA are QSA by 15th of each month--check their status from CSS.

    5. As a business builder, you should do minimum 300 PPV (not 100 PPV and depend on 200 from non SA). Once you have done your own PPV than help others who are struggling to qualify with your surplus PV. But make sure they do at least 50% of their PV and you help them for few months only.


    6. Most important learn the marketing plan thoroughly and check CSS everyday for at least 10 minutes and see who is working and who needs your support.
    Remember, CSS is the pulse of your business.
     
    Note: Since I am based in Gulf our personal qualification is 300 PPV--for other countries like India, personal qualification is 3000 PPV and for US/Canada it is 100 PPV.
